Mother's Day Recipe: Red Wine Beef Ragu

Ingredients

  • 1/3 to ½ cup dry red wine
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste (or tomato-based pasta sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ to 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 medium onion
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 to 1 ½ teaspoon thyme
  • 1 ½ to 2 cups of fresh tomatoes, crushed
  • 2 lb lean brisket
  • Sea salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • Basil, fresh
  • Grated Parmesan

Directions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the wine, tomato paste, flour vinegar, onion, garlic, thyme and fresh tomatoes.
  2. Slice the brisket into 3 inch thick pieces, season lightly with salt and pepper. Place into the mixing bowl and let marinate for 10-15 mins.
  3. Transfer all ingredients in the bowl into the cooking pot of the Chefwave Chefe Multicooker.
  4. Use the “Slow Cook” Program and set timer to 3 hours.
  5. Serve over rice or pasta, enjoy!
